RESEARCH CAMP

The Research Camp is fenced and situated on a 27 000ha game reserve. It consists of a lounge and shared dining area. Shared rooms (up to 2-4 people) include linens, hot showers and flushing toilets. Each room has its own ensuite bathroom, as well as a fan and air-conditioning, essential for the hot temperatures in Limpopo.

The communal kitchen is equipped with a fridge, freezer, stove and microwave. It is also stocked with crockery and cutlery. Additionally, there is drinkable, running tap water.

Outside, students and volunteers can enjoy a braai, (BBQ), campfire area, outdoor dining space and swimming pool.

In addition the Research Centre also features a fully equipped pottery studio. During their stay, students and volunteers have the unique opportunity to craft their own handcrafted bowls (no experience needed) which they can paint and take home as a souvenir of their time in South Africa.

IN THEIR OWN WORDS: STUDENT REVIEWS

Pieter and Chanelle welcomed me warmly, due to their hospitality and generosity. They appreciate a good joke, but when it comes down to it, you can always rely on them. It was wonderful to experience the South African culture up close and also learn a lot, like setting up projects in and working with CyberTracker, trail tracking, bird identification and more. I had an educational, interesting experience that I highly recommend.
